Hi there, I failed my MOT today with 3 broken springs and one of them about to break, they’ve quoted me at £800 to buy and fit the front springs and £400 to the back. Surely that’s way over priced? Does anyone have any prices they’ve paid for just 1 spring or anything? I’m a bit scared to be honest it’s a lot of money

Do NOT take your car to a Main Dealer.

For springs it's a very simple job. Any garage can do it.

I would imagine you can get a set of 4 springs for circa £200 and a good independant garage could fit them in 4 hours.

Hell i can do it in 4 hours on my bloomin drive

3 hours if i was trying

I would expect a bill under £500

Run away, look for a local independent who may well be changinging springs on a daily basis, £400 should be easily achievable.
