EGR issues

Hi all, so I had the EML come on and got it diagnosed as the EGR valve being faulty, mechanic reckoned it would need replacing. They cancelled the code so the light went out, have given it a long run and the light hasn't come back and dpf seemed to be functioning correctly. Could it still be faulty or is it a blip?

It is always good to include your engine type and code, also has it had any "free essential" emissions updates applied by SEAT?

Thanks, it's the 2010 2.0 tdi cr, had since 2020 so can't confirm what updates. The code was P040100 (insufficient flow exhaust gas recirc)
