Hi all, got a pre-facelift FR and wanting a dual oval exhaust like the Cupra but can’t find a diffuser to cover up the botched bumper. The Maxton Valance Diffuser (2014-2016) is what I’m after but Maxton “can’t advise” that it’ll fit or not and wondering if anyone has fitted it before on this model. If not the Rieger one would work but I’m not 100% on round tips.
Thanks in advance.

I cut the bumper and had the catback system installed then bonded on the Rieger diffuser this is the final result. Hope it helps anyone

So does this just fit over bumper? No need to cut out the valance that's part of the rear bumper?

Looks great!

Edit: just seen you had to cut the bumper!

Yea unfortunately had to cut bumper but wasn’t too big a problem, just some translating of distances from the diffuser onto the bumper and simply cutting it and smoothing the edges.

It looked mighty ugly without the diffuser but it had to be fitted after the exhaust system was fitted so was dealt with after by using adhesive to stick it and lots of measurements.

Also being held on with tape for 7 days to let the adhesive cure. The stuff Rieger provide is pretty good anyway so no need to go looking your own.

And yes I love how it looks now, thank you!

So you only had to cut a hole for the 2nd exhaust pipe? So if I bought this diffuser for a single exit exhaust system there would be no cutting required? (Assuming they make a single exit one)

Yes, only had to cut one hole for the second exist. Although I had to get full back box cut off due to the standard twin tips being too wide to the fit the Rieger’s single exist as Rieger has 100mm exist both sides roughly and the tips together are around 140mm roughly.

Im not sure if Rieger does a standard exist diffuser, I know you can get a central twin exist if you want to make it like the mk2 Cupras. But I do know Maxton makes a diffuser for standard exist, but Maxton’s twin single exist diffuser doesn’t work for Pre-Facelift due to it replacing the standard diffuser on Cupras and Mk3.5s. As mk3s only have plastic along the bottom part of the bumper which was replaced by a diffuser 2017+ (Cupras always had them).

So essentially yes there ‘should’ be no cutting involved with a twin single exist. Possibly the diffuser itself might need trimmed to help it fit better, but no cutting of the bumper.
