Sensor or camera in front of my knee?

I've just noticed what looks like a sensor or a camera just in front of where my left knee sits (RHS drive) in my Leon.

The car went in for diagnostics at JCT600 CUPRA yesterday, I've never noticed it before, but it just caught my eye today. It could've been installed yesterday or it may have been there since coming out of the factory.

Does anyone know what it could possibly be? Is it a camera? Is it a sensor? If so, what for?
