Took her to Cadwell park for a track day and had a great run out. Lots of very professional drivers so was a very fast moving and very few red flags compared to usual.

Some interesting facts from my day out (well to me anyway)

Set tyre pressure to normal (for me) level from cold and after a couple of very fast 20 minute sessions the pressures had increased on the front tyres by 4psi on the rear 2psi

DSG Control module temps for Control Module and Transmission Fluid were constant at 95/7 and 88/89 regardless of how hard or long I was out on the track, I have fitted an extras large aux radiator and this is defo paying off with regards to temps.

Brake Disk temps constant at 82 C on the rears untill I stayed out longer than 20 when they increased.
Fronts were volatile between 129 and 194 C dependent on how hard I was hitting them.

Engine oil temps (I have fitted an oil cooler to help) were constant regardless of what i did between 98 and 102 so very happy with that.

Fuel economy was 12.5mpg

Took the old girl out on another track day at Cadwell this time the conditions were a bit spicy due to the lovely rain but I have to say the Continental Sport Contact 7 rubber lived up to its reviews. Handled the power very well in both light and very heavy rain.

Bit off putting when you get traction control light showing when doing a fair pace but was very happy when braking hard the tyres worked well.

Sounds great! I have for now Michelin PS4S on the car. Continental Sportcontact 7 seems to be a good alternative when time comes to replace them. PS4S is rather expensive in Sweden these days.
Yes the PS4S Have got very expensive in the UK as well

Yesterday took for MOT - Passed.

Enquired about Golf MK7 spare wheel Boot cover insert (whatever its called) from a breakers to fit in my Seat.
Seeing as they skimped on it, probably pick up weekend.

Threw some Redline System Fuel Cleaner in the tank - still chasing crap mpg issue.

Think this weekend gonna have a look at Throttle Body and clean if necessary.

Swapped out the APR cone intake for the stock air box n filter, but without the snow grate underneath. And kept the Ramair hose and turbo elbow. Whilst doing this I also luckily noticed a fair bit of oil on the PCV breather hose, unfortunately, so will check that more closely tomorrow. May need to replace.

Some oil in the PCV breather hose engine EA888 engine.
This is normal inside the hose but not on the outside :). Perhaps check the fit of it or if you have a leak.

Update. PCV hose is covered in oil, seals look gone. Could be original hose from 2015. That will need replacing. There’s also a slight leak from the top of the timing chain cover. Will get mechanic to take it off n inspect gaskets, as I don’t know how to do that myself, and don’t have jack stands. Could be faulty PCV valve? Anyone got experience of this?

Sadly, I left the Leon club!

Issues with my Mk3 (beyond my control) led to it going back to the dealer. Due to my age, insurance on a 290 was extortionate, so I've ended up in an Octavia vRS 245.

See you all around - hope to be back here some day :) (I will still float around as you all know the EA888 lump far better than I do!)

Fitted bonnet gas struts, so much better.
Just contemplating removing the stick or leave it as back up.
I have had gas struts fitted for 8 odd years and removed the stick at the same time, never found a need for it personally.

In the last month and a bit had my VBT Aston Martin Brembos fitted with 345mm Golf MK6 R discs. Also had TPMS, reverse camera and multicolour front and rear footwell lighting by @East Yorkshire Retrofits

Nothing really spectacular, but an brilliantly satisfying outcome of a job I've been meaning to do for months - sorting out an incredibly annoying buzz at certain engine revs somewhere behind the dash clocks. Turned out it was the plastic heater pipe to the outer vent squeaking with the tiniest amount of movement. A couple of cable ties later, and all is quiet. Also cable tied the USB cable running up the passenger side A pillar from the USB hub I installed by the fuse box behind the glovebox to the front dash cam. Surprising how glaringly quiet it actually is now!
