You have to put VW in front of your Mib2 Google's else you end up in the wrong place... the
Ateca is Mib2. VW Golf 7 mk 7 was the first one from memory so VCDS configuration have a good chance of working but then the compont parts may be different. You have a bus between the component parts they are all programmed. These are the modules. Each module has a string in it and your programming tool VCDS / Obdeleven changes that string. That makes component parts of the car work differently to how it's shipped but then the components are designed to work like that. Unlocks different aspects. Unlocks different menus. Turns on traffic recognition if you have the cameras up there but didn't pay for that facility. Can turn off stop start. Etc etc. That's how manufacturers build modern cars by turning on and off and the behaviour of components. So the programming is in the car just the way it works is configured by model and accessories. These components are "common" to the VAG group. Hence you can eye a mod in one and look for it in the
Ateca.
The
Ateca ones I've got here, but a candidate is the camera on this thread above.

The German
Ateca and Spanish
Ateca Seat Club have some additional ones. They dont have turning on wifi client in Mib2 High (Plus). They didn't have the panoramic roof central closing (the one disabled after an accident in the States on B8), till they borrowed it. I borrowed some Spanish ones but credit them. Knowing some German helps since some of the commands / scripts are in German in these tools.
Some people get in a hot sweet about it and if you don't own the car, if your route to obtain it was lease or
PCP you may wish to think twice or run a campaign to get hot and bothered about it and thump the table as some do about modding a car. But if you like to configure the car it's well worth investing the time. You can also read out the car's error reports to understand if anything is going on that you need to know about. From mine I gleaned the garage had never cleared the error reports before delivery and sold me a car with the drivers heated mirror circuit open. It explained a lot about why the heated mirror wasn't working.
. Useful when I went back, I alluded to the fact that I'd read the error.
Trusty DV52 across the net provides good introductory information, the thread below is a veritable
resource on the Golf Mk7 VCDS. DV52 is also a moderator on the Obdeleven board as well.
