After reading the the threads regarding launch control and switching off the traction control ive just realised i dont have a traction control button. I have to do it through the touch screen. Mine is a 14 plate so when did the button appear?

I think only The cupra has a dedicated button. My MY2014 FR doesn't have it either, I have to digg the menues to de-activate it

Yeh my 280 has no button.

So when I was doing my research on getting a cupra I noticed that some screenshots of the interior had the button and others didn't... Mine does, so I'm guessing it was added as an extra feature later on - its next to the passenger air bag warning light section.

Built around same time, got the button. Also under seat storage on both sides (which I wasn't expecting) and net on lh side of boot.

Pah I have a net on both sides :p

Have you noticed that one storage box is smaller than the other, can fit a nerf gun in the passenger one, and not in the drivers :(

Ah that'll account for the squillions price difference then

my 10 year old Bora highline and the SE one I had for 2 years before that until some idiot wrote it off for me! had the TCS button on the dash (actually its called ESP don't know if thats just VWs name for it?), I think I turned it off once in the 12 years when I got the first Bora to see what happened! Then again the Bora isn't a hot hatch. Even when you turn off the switch the system still retains some control.

Turn mine off quite a bit.. good way to disable the front assist which can sometimes be a bit too "OMG YOURE GONNA CRASH INTO THAT CAR" when youre clearly not. also saps a lot of the cupra power when you can easily manage any traction issues yourself with throttle control rather than it try and do a bad job for you.

ESP is the electronic stability control part... would leave this on unless on a track as its pretty amazing system. one quick press of the button is good enough for road use.

Is that different then? Wasn't sure.

yeah traction saps the power (or applys the brake, depending on the system) to avoid things like spinning the wheels and esp stops your car from spinning or flipping when doing sharp turns at speed. some pretty cool vids on youtube showing esp on and off and what happens.
