Cel and epc flashed, temporary loss of engine power

Today I was driving and it lost all engine power for less than a second. Whilst it had no power the cel and epc light came on and then went off as soon as power was restored. It did this over half a year ago but not since. Does anyone know why or if it's normal? Yesterday when idle the engine shut off but it also hasn't done that in a few months.

Car is a 1.4 100hp bbz. Has a k&n panel filter but nothing else.
