Right then must be me!
I've had a look at my personal settings but can't see anything obvious.

To the best of my knowledge the only thing that's changed recently is that I've gone from a rather slow 1.1Mbps to a nice steady 6.5Mbps on my broadband.

Any ideas?

Regards Guy.

Tried deleting your cache? What browser you using?

Just before I turn off my PC I disconnect from the internet and run CCleaner latest version (1.41.544).
Firefox is my weapon of choice and must say I've never had any problems before.
Have just logged in using Internet Explorer 7 and the smilies still don't move.

I think I'll have to work on this as the problem is obviously down to me.

Thanks for your comments.
Regards Guy.

When you reply to a post it brings up an option to disable smilies, maybe you have selected that at some point.

The box isn't ticked so I'm guessing no.
I'm going to try a different PC on the same phone line to see what happens.
If the problem is still there I'll look at my internet connection.

It has to be something on my PC or phone line rather than a setting I have on SCN.
When I find out what it is I'll let you know.

Regards Guy.

I think I've worked out what the problem is.

ZoneAlarm security suite "seven point something" with settings on high seems to stop the smilies.
I think I'll live with it.
