To soften the ride on K1 Cupra?

Hi all

I've only had my car, 2008 K1, about two months but tonight in town found the ride very hard and crashy!

I know the roads are generally crap, but I find myself driving like a drunk to avoid pot holes!

I very soon need four new tyres anyway and thought if 225/45/18's would work?

Currently have 225/40/18 Conti 5's and was going change to Goodyear Assy 3's.

Apparently the tyres are nitrogen filled so not sure if makes them harder?

Had two MK1 FR TDi's and an 11 plate FR TDi before and done recall them being this hard!

Any thoughts?

Cheers

CB
