They do look good. Have they actually been released on a car in the UK yet? I havnt seen any with them on yet.

No chance of a straight swap. You would need to at least use VCDS to disable all of the bulb cold diagnostics to stop bulb failure messages on the dash.

As noted above, not a straight swap. Cable\connections differ also.

The new ibiza has the new styled reflectors but not LED. I like that they've made an effort on the reflectors instead of them just been a strip like they used to be!

i know there new and everything and that has its appeal but imagine for a moment this style was the standard and the ones we have now have just come out, which ones do you think you would choose, cos bulbs and leds aside i still like the ones ive got more

To answer your question,Yes,There is a new technical buletin that has just come out it states.."The physical assembly of the new LED tail lights is simple as they are compatible with the existing tail lights (identical shape, same connector, etc.)

To electrically adapt the LED tail lights, the lighting control parameters in the body control module should be updated"
So they will fit with no problems and the central electrics then needs to be adapted for LED lights rather than conventional bulbs, there is a test plan on our diagnostic machine so i imagine you can do it with vagcom etc but i do not know the channel numbers or coding that you would need to change. But you could always fit them and take it to your local dealer to be adapted.
cheers

If connections are the same I would say you would need VCDS to change byte 18 of module 9, this controls all the lighting. The only problem is the default code is usally hidden and shows up as 00. If you you get the wrong code your lights wont work right, like indicators on all the time etc.
