No air from vents

air vent temp sensor
I don't get any air from my vents unless I have recirc switched on. I ran a diagnostic check and it says air vent outlet temp sendor open or short to plus, I guess this means its faulty
Only problem is I don't know where the best place is to get one from and what price I should pay.
Any ideas?

Update

Found the sensor, unplugged it. Cleared log. Re ran test to confirm.
Plugged sensor back in, cleared log.
Sensor tests ok now.
Switch on heater, still no air but new error code. V71 stepper motor?
Argh!
Job for tomorrow, it's started raining.
So I don't known if the motor is faulty of the flap it moves is stuck

I replaced one of these motors in my old mk5 Golf. What happened was the elbow joint snapped its retaining tab so it wasn't functioning properly (the motor spins but the arm isn't connected to anything to transfer the power).

What may have happened is the cog/elbow has failed whilst the air was off and thus will be stuck like this until you replace with a working motor.
In my case it was stuck on cold air.

You should be able to remove some plastics and manually move the arms to at least lock it in a blowing position at least.

PS. if replacing the motor then do a calibration in VCDS

Apologies I am talking about the V68 temperature flap.
There should still be a manual lever though for the V71?

I can get air if I press the recirc and I hear it operate.
As you say it must be moving two flaps
Where is v71 located? Passenger side?
Is it easy to change?

At a guess I'd say it's behind the glovebox

Finally got round to looking at the air flap fault.
Been putting it off as it sounded like it was going to be a problem
Any how
Glove box out and there it is.
20mins
Ordered a second hand replacement
New motors at £80 + vat and not in stock
Manually moved the fresh air flap and bingo air from vents.
