I have activated the child lock to avoid my son, Indiana Jones, jettisoning himself from the car. Its a black screw type switch, size of an old ha'penny(showing my age), needs to be turned in direction of arrow, about 1/4 turn. Thats on a Cupra :)

cupra r locks all doors at 6 mph only the driver can open them its just above the window buttons....i think its so carjacking is harder to do... and safety....BUT if you crash (god forbid). into a river doors are designed to unlock on impacted....i think... but i,m sure someone will correct me if i,m wrong.....

Erm, anyone inside the car can open the doors - just takes two pulls on the lever.

Child lock on LCR is same as other Leons. What's nice is the ignition key fits works perfick as a screwdriver in the child lock.

I was wondering about this today. I know that the doors lock at 6mph but they can be opened by pulling the handle twice, independant of the switch on the drivers door consol.
But as I was dropping a mate off today (who now knows he has to pull it twice to open) I saw him pull it about 4 times before it opened, but he did start trying to open the door before the car had stopped moving!

Which makes me wonder if only the driver can unlock the doors while the car is actually in motion?

The doors will open while driving, as long as you pull it twice.

I'm wondering if there is anyway you can disable this auto door locking, i know on the ford st you have a sequence of pressing the electric window but i'm not sure if it will be the same on the Cupra R

Yes, I had my 'auto-locking' enabled with vag-com by m0rk (nice chap!).

The amount of times that I've had passengers yanking on the handle to get out (before I've taken the key out of the ignition to unlock all the doors!).

So turn that with your car key and it will turn it off/on depending how it is set now.
