Hi all,

New to the Leon, looking to buy a 2019 Leon ST but unsure on what engine.
Is the 1.5 sluggish and overall a bad buy?
Should i stick with the 2L?

Thanks all.

To be honest i love my 2.0TSI. My parents has T-roc with 1.5 TSI and also it was great engine. I said was because their engin was fitter to T-Roc very short without GPF. ENgine is very good. I had chance drive 1.5 TSI with GPF and it's slugish. Also i compared fuel consuption between my car and parents ( i know diffrent body) but 1,5 TSI consume much more gas on highway due to lact of 7th gear which you will get in 2.0 (DKZA engine). Inside city - diffrence is also not so big.

For me 2.0 TSI is perfect to this car. Consume normal amonut of gas in any condition but if you want you can push is hard. Also remeber that same engine block and many elements are mounted in Cupra. DSG same. So if they can survive 300hp, with 190hp engine will be really relaible. I didn't have any issue since i bought car and i made more than 60 000 km. If you have chance take 2.0 TSI, change oil every 10 000 km and put good gasoline and you will have car for years.

Thanks for your reply, i have seen the 1.5 tsi dsg comes with 7 speed.
But i think i should pay the extra and go for 2L.

OOO this something new for me my parents has DADA engine and it was paired with 6 speed DSG. Not bad gear i need to say but DSG 7 on highway is great 140km/h and you have around 2000+ rpm.

Also if you are planning to rise power via cheap 2.0 TSI will be better choice.

One more thing. I strongly recommend to think (not just after buy) to make program for DSG. I have from TVS because standard settings change gears like in diesel - very low. I't killing joy of ride. Of course you can use S mode but in this mode driving in rain is like living on the edge ;) I rise clutch pressure and moment of changing gears and car rides much better.

With normal program, when you drive around 70km/h you already 7th gear - crazy. After changing program no differences of gas consumption buy joy multiplied by 5 :p

Thanks for the advice, I'll keep a lookout for the 2L model and get the dsg updated.
