i have a friend in italy with golf 6 TD 170hp, DSG gearbox, egr delete, DPF removed, remapped , rated at 210hp

his engine is identical to mine (fr tdi cr 170, revo stage 2 remap, 217 on dyno, DPF removed by me fisically)

cars have identical engines, dsg gearbox for both, 225R18 tires, despite all this, his fuel consumption is so much better

with 38 liters he just did 830km (63 MPG UK)
with full car i did 672km with 41 liters (46MPG uk)

it seems nearly impossible, his engine is so fuel efficient.
at 140km/h his BC shows 5l/100km fuel consumption, i get 6.7liters
his car goes to almost 245-250 slowly
i have difficulties going to 230km/h downhill 2 days ago in greece on highway

can it be so much difference in these 2 identical engines?

this 6.1 liters /100km i did 3 days ago is my record (46MPG UK)

63mpg vs my record 46mpg ..it's a big difference
is that even possible on a remapped engine 210hp ? i have some big doubts

my car really struggles reaching 230 in top speed, he is saying 230 so fast then slowly towards 250 km/h.

either he is lying, or my revo stage 2 rempas is really sh|te

could be that the golf 6 is so much more aerodynamically efficient than my leon?

I'm no expert but there are so many factors to take into account on MPG. Driving style, tyres, roads you drive on (i.e. constant speed is better than stop start) when you change gear, how you accelerate etc. If you granny drive on motorways for a long time chances are you will get in the 60s too, especially if you drive off boost. Also mileage of car makes a big difference. When my Leon Fr mk 1 tdi was below 30k I struggled to get in the 40s mpg. Then it seemed to jump. Now at 108k its much better on fuel than when it was new. I reckon 10-15mpg average. If i drive normally I get 47mpg and thats not hanging around. If I granny drive or go a long distance on motorway, easily over 600 miles on a tank.

Of course, he might also be lying, or wrong. Maybe 48 litres or more...

65mpg compared to my best ever 45mpg ..there is a 45% difference there.
my DPF, i just took everything out and welded back the cut i made
on his car they said it is better to drill a big gole in the middle of it, making it like a pipe for gas to flow

on highway at 140km/h his bc shows 5l mine shows 6.7-7l , that is 35-40% more fuel efficient

that brings us to the remap, i beginning to think that the revo stage 2 remap is not so good

this record 46mpg i got driving for 672km on highway 115-130km/h on cruise control

63MPG ? not even the 1.6 tdi eco will do that let alone 2.0 no leon do 63mpg , I drove and owned leons and Ibizas.
1.9 tdi 2010, 1.6 cr sport coupe 110, 2.0 fr+ never saw more than 50 MPG in none of them cars and this is on cruise on motorways at 70MPH/ 80 anything above is only 40/46mpg and all mine is genuine no all serviced fully this is not real MPG is miscalculated by messing the computer

I've done 6550 miles in my FR+ 2.0 diesel and my actual calculated mpg is 52.5. I cruise at 60mph on motorway though, speeding up to overtake etc, and my driving is probably about 80% motorway these days (with 20 miles of my usual 64mile stretch at 50mph due to the M1 roadworks between 15 and 19). The remaining 20% of trips are very short, no more than 5 miles between engine on/off.

60 is pretty slow , i go at 85-90mph when on highway

anyway there is something wrong , i did 15s from 100 to 200km/h
now car does 22-23 seconds ..

only thing i changes is timing belt and stuff, so gonna check if its perfectly aligned

If you got caught doing 90mph on our motorways you're in trouble!
