Annoying automatic locking!

I have a 2004 seat ibiza 1.4 5 door sport. Ive had it for around 4 months but there is something that bothers me and my lady passengers!! From starting the engine to driving off above 5mph all the doors and boot automatically lock meaning the passengers have to pull the handle twice or I have to press the unlock button on my door to get into the boot once I have stopped. Is there anyway to stop this or is it standard with all seat ibizas? It annoys me and scares my female passengers ;) Any help thanks

If it works the same way as my old mk3:

Once the car autolocks, hit the manual "unlock" by your door handle whilst the car is still going, the next time you switch on the ignition and drive off it should remember you didn't want autolock on and it won't autolock.

Failing that I'm sure this is one of the courtesy things that VagComm can enable/Disable

vag-com will disable this...it is an anti hijack design.

when car goes over 15mph it locks, it winds me up when the passengers tries to yank the handle off when it doesnt open first time

Reason being from the reading above I assume maybe my car's previous owner done as above, just interested to know if it can be done...

To disable Auto Locks...

Turn on ignition, start up VAG-COM

Go to "Select control module" from the main menu.
Select "46 - Central conv."
Click on "Adaption - 10"
Press "Up" next to channel number and watch for "Auto Lock" at the top.
When found Auto Lock, set "New Value" to '0' from '1' click "Test" then "Save"
Press "Up" next to channel number and watch for "Auto Unlock" at the top.
When found Auto Unlock, set "New Value" to '0' from '1' click "Test" then "Save"
Then click "Done, Go Back"

Just reverse this process....

I just got used to hitting the unlock button on the door before my Mum had time to try and wrench the handle off the passenger door...

Some cars came with it enabled, some didn't. But yes it can be turned off/on with vag-com (now called VCDS) easily, along with other functions like the pointless three-flash indicators, and indicator flash / chirp on alarm locking/unlocking.

I put this on for me, then did the same for another guy. It took maybe a week before I was sick of it, and probably not more than two days before I got a PM from the other guy saying 'please turn it off!!'

The problem I had was my passenger door lock is slightly faulty, it only became apparent with the auto lock. So when I hit 15 mph, the doors would lock, then unlock. Then I'd stop in traffic, get back up to 15 mph, another lock/unlock. By the end of a half hour queue of traffic in Derby I was ready to superglue the locks shut just to stop it!!

My lock works fine otherwise, it just wouldn't stay locked with the autolock. And so the ECU assumed it was my first time above 15mph, and proceeded to lock me in.

I have a cupra Leon and the obdeleven app advises I have to open the bonnet to activate or deactivate this feature. why is bonnet opening required?
See the highlighted post on the Cupra Born forum at the link below which explains why it’s necessary to have the bonnet open;
