Afternoon,

Just a quick one,

When i unlock my car with the remote but do not open the doors the car automatically locks itself after about 30secs or so.

I assume this is so kind of security feature the car has.

But if i get in the car and see what happens, nothing does, i am aware newer models have a auto locking system when driving.

it's a security feature, yeah.

if you unlock the doors but don't get in, then they re-lock.

mine also lock when it gets over 2k revs - this can be changed with vagcom

The countdown stops as soon as you open the door. So if you want the car unlocked but don't want to get in to do anything (like you might when cleaning it), just unlock the car and open the door :)

My old car had it, and the Leon which is a older car by comparison has it. Its a good feature just in case you have hit the button by accident and not wanting to get into the car. To stop it, open a door or by opening the boot.

In that case, what is the standard Leon alarm system (LC and LCR)? Cat 1? Cat 2? If it's Thatcham approved.. have they given it a category?
