Anything to look out for? Is service history a must? Any common faults? How should the car feel to drive?

use the search button mate , i will say it before everyone else does , been asked loads of times , the engines are usually bomb proof when standard , look for normal things when looking to buy a car , as long as the traction control light aint on all the time which is usually the maf , and the engine light aint on it should be fine , get yourself a copy of vag com of e bay and plug that into it before buying it

seems a good price, wouldn't say service history is a must however at 60k it would be good for peace of mind. especially as you'll want the cambelt and water pump replaced within the next 10k really if it hasn't been done already

try searching for things to look at, common faults etc, plenty of info out there
