Changing ECU procedure (Cupra)

Ok, your probably thinking here we go again. But I am not looking for the the VAGCOM part of changing an ECU is very well documented - however I am not able to find anything on actually changing the ECU. I am pretty confident but it doesn't do any harm to double check, especially when playing with with something so valuable.

So is it simply:

Disconnect negative terminal of battery,
Disconnect positive terminal of battery,
Pull ECU out,
New one in,
Reconnect battery,
Ignotion on and VAGCOM it.

Job done? Maybe take a few waterproofing measures while I am in there.

the ecu's are vented so dont seal em completely over anything that looks liek it should be open

just ask the ex superchips guy who's new *chip* went pop in water enclosed in a tesco bag :p

in the middle of that list

remove wipers
remove scuttle panel
unbolt ecu (3 bolts i think it is on mk2)

What are you talking about? You never get more than 2 lines before mentioning your hotrod again :bleh:

Thanks anyway. I'll not make it water and air tight but will try and sheild it a bit.
