Clutch pedal sticking to the floor.

Seems to be a few posts similar to my issue but know real solution.

Went to drive the car Sat morning and the clutch pedal stuck to the floor. I've had no symptoms up to this point.

After some googling I read that the master cylinder often cracks so I had a look. I can see no visible cracks or leaks.

I also checked the res. This was low and took quite alot of liquid. So I assumed that the clutch hydraulics could have taken on some air so I bled it. This took for ever, partially because I've never bled a clutch before, only brake systems. Eventually I was able to get the pedal to return on its own accord and build pressure.

I took itnfor a drive and the pedal felt okay but not 100%. I took a break for some food (maybe and hour or so) came back and the clutch barely returned and got into gear and now just sticks to the floor again.

Any suggestions?

Seems some people are having no luck replacing the mater and the slave is a gear box off jobby which will be a last resort.

Is this the first time it's happened? Could be the slave cylinder? If it slowly gets better then could be that.
That brings its own lovely mix of ballache. It's a reasonably inexpensive part but replacing it I think isn't straight-forward.

Sounds like the slave cylinder is leaking fluid.

Helpfully it's inside the gearbox, so by the time you've had that off you may as well put a new clutch and DMF in, because they're best part worn out too.

Apologies for the late response. I've had a hell of a time with this issue. The garage replaced the master cylinder. This fixed it for a day. I found a leak from the pipe leading to the master cylinder and took the car back. They fixed the pipe and the cars been fine since.

Was it the pipe running from the reservoir to the master cylinder itself? Looking at replacing the master today but seen on a YouTube repair that the seal/grommet can split on this hose.
