Right, I may be getting a company car soon so the mk2 cupra may have to go. Can't decide whether this is a good thing or not as on the one hand I have had a number of problems with it since I bought it in 2005 but on the other hand they are all fixed now and it is actually a pretty decent car, bloody quick compared to most modern cars too.
In any case it may be out of my hands as my boss is keen for me have something newer for work. Prices seem to vary wildly so can someone either convince me to keep it or tell me it's worth an amount that will compensate me for having to move to 1.2L Fiesta.....

Interesting - 3 replies all telling me to keep it! Sadly I don't think that will be viable. Even if it was worth nothing I don't have anywhere to keep a 3rd car - we already have a mk5 Golf as a family car so it would never wash with the mrs even if I did have somewhere to put it!
Think you guys are right about the value though, I'm realistic, I don't expect to get a huge amount for it. Although it's mechanically sound, it's certainly not what I'd describe as mint.
Ah well, you may see it for sale in the next few weeks.... Cheers for you input anyway...
One day I'll have a fun car again - might be a while yet though....

Well you could always upgrade the MK5 golf to a fun model say a GT TDi with the money from the ibiza and what you'll save from not running it ;)

Er - yeah I guess I realise how it looks but the cupra is 12 years old now FFS! I'm hardly John 'two jags' Prescott :D
Trust me the bank account doesn;t make good reading....
Anyway, I think it will be for sale soon as I can't afford to keep it as well as a company runaround. Btw I'm 33 years old, that might be a factor in this discussion? I know when I started using these forums many years ago all I could afford was a 400 quid mk2 golf and thought anyone with two cars was actually royalty - but I guess things change...;)
I haven't been down the pub in about 2 years since having a fanily and massive mortgage - think about that when you're enjoying your next cold pint.... (well if the credit crunch aint kicked in too bad of course!).
Sorry - this feels like councelling now, better go.......

i get what you mean, sometimes you got to think realistically, if you can afford it, i say keep, if you can't sell!
(personally i'd sell the fam and keep it lol) ;) :p

At last some helpful replies.....:D

A grand would be fantastic, I reckon that might be ambitious given the mileage though.

Mind you there are some for more than that on Auto Trader.

It'll be up for sale (probably..) in a couple of weeks.....
