CV boot clip/clamp replacement

So the clip on my CV boot joint seems to have come off so the boot slips off, the boot is in good condition and I would really rather not take the whole thing off and replace, already tried a jubilee clip to no avail as it is too wide and catches when the wheel turns, tried a zip tie but that wasn't strong enough, is there somewhere I can a CV boot clamp that won't catch something thinner than a jubilee clip? Ideally one that doesn't need a special tool? Seems quite a generic problem

I see them all over Amazon and eBay and yet I cannot go out to a shop and just by a basic clip?? Absolute madness!

Are you on crack? I eventually found a clip at a tiny auto parts shop, ridiculous that none of the main car part franchises stock them.
