matt dump valves (atmospheric ones) will cause errors and send your car into limp mode, ie virtually no boost, virtually no boost means no woosh so either put up with the 20vt (mine makes virtually the same amount of noise as an atmo anyway) or sell it and buy a gti-r or glanza.

Matt, seriously do a search and you'll find loads of different opinions on dump valves and induction kits that work well together.

I have a forge dump valve and to me it sounds sweet not too overdone either

lol

Search wooshy wooshy and it explains all.

Basically if you want a loud dump noise you could possibly do the following.

1.install a forge 007p DV
2. remove airbox and smooth all the interior ridges out.
3.install a green cotton panel filter
4. remove offside wheel arch liner
5. remove the incey wincey air intake pipe from the arch.
6. install a new air intake (or just leave the box open and the arch liner out)

If you do this, you'll get this noise.....ptshh tweet

Alternatively you could install a Ram air filter which will give a louder noise too as the DVs noise will sound better through a cone.

Open filters which use oil to lube and stuff, tend to kill the MAF too.

Believe me mate, you'll want to research this mod before you go ahead and think you know what you're doing.

it'll pay in the long run

Nearly all filters bar the stainless mesh one use oil, just some are more oily than others.;) Open filters will lead to heatsoak but sound great.

Any problems if you use the open filter in the winter months only?

lol heat soak from using an open cone filter comes from the engines heat not the exterior temps...(not that summer heat helps)

why bother with a wooshy dump valve...the car doesnt use them and ull probably lose power, even if u dont notice it
