Dying dash????

Own a cupra tdi 2004. Seem to have a problem i carn't figure out, wonder if you have any ideas?

Im losing my dash whilst driving, i mean that the speedo just cuts out altogether.

Aswell as the speedo, the fuel idicator keeps dying aswell. Going from where it should be, to empty, and then back again. As its doing this the 'low fuel beep' goes off, and its getting very annoying.

There seems to be no pattern to this, however when i have turned my climate up high i get the problem after.

When im continuing to drive, the deadlocks go off, the doors lock and then the dash comes back to life.

Any ideas?

Sounds mad!, do you have access to vag-com with all that you mention being electrical you would hope to see a few faults logged to help you diagnose a bit better.

My thoughts are going to a dodgy unit, as its combined with the doors locking.
Maybe the wiring to the door unit with all the window controls in it?

Thanks for that, the doors lock fine when you do it manually, just that they don't when you drive off.

Never used vagcom, i heard people buy it off ebay.

How much would it be to purchase a registered version.

Sounds like it might be worth having for future reference.
