Fuel Range in your Leon

Hi all.

Just out of pure noseyness and curiosity, what sort of fuel range do you get in your Leon, and what spec is it?

Reason I ask is that I feel like I get brilliant mileage in my car, all things considered, and wondered others' experiences. I find MPG useless as a measurement of how much a car costs you to run - I always fill my car full with premium Costco diesel, and run it to the fuel light/nearly empty. Miles per tank gives me a far better idea of fuel efficiency.

I have a 2016 Leon SC FR Tech, 2.0 TDi 184 DSG. Now on 70,000 miles.

Without trying, I get about 575 miles per tank. That's a mixture of motorway, slow B roads, urban driving etc. 50 litre tank and never ran 'empty'/to the reserve which I believe is about 7 litres. So from that, I get 575ish miles from 43 litres of fuel. Not sure what that is in terms of MPG (maths and unit conversion is not my strong point...) but nearly 600 miles from about £60 of fuel, in an automatic car with nearly 200 horsepower I think is absolutely brilliant. Combine that with 35 quid road tax, being ULEZ compliant UK-wide and not having to use DEF, I'm well pleased.

What do you get in your car?

Not diesel, but I get around 400 miles per full tank in my Leon Cupra hatch DSG. Nearly 114k miles. Average low to mid 40mpg on a run, and mid to high 30s short distance or if I’m heavy footed in Cupra Mode.

2020 Cupra R ST ABT Best I have got is 365 miles. From full to warning lamp coming on. Not really concerned if it`s 20 or 40 mpg the car is a joy to drive.

As a relatively new owner of a 1.4 ACT (150bhp) manual, I've been keeping an eye on this for the last few fill ups and I'm getting around 520 miles / tank, which is around 47- 48 mpg average. For mixed driving, with the odd A-road blast here and there, I think that's pretty good.

Seriously?

That's consistent with what we get from ours. (y)

AS @fuzzylogic said I get around 360 mark with normal driving,
Motorways I can easily get over 40mpg on the track 11mpg but these cars are good on fuel and great power outputs so mine is a keeper.

In the 3 months that I have had my 2020 Cupra ST300, I have seen a range of between 360 and 430 immediately after filling the tank to the brim.

Long term mpg is a much better measure of fuel efficiency than miles per full (varies) tank.

My 2018 Leon FR has averaged 45mpg over the last 25k miles. That includes many short (less than 10 mile) journeys.

On a 150 mile trip from Goucestershire to Sheffield with 140 miles on motorway it returns 52mpg.

2015 ST FR 184 manual here - and agree great running costs vs performance vs practicality - I get usually over 600 miles to a tank, before I need to fill up - in the summer I usually get an indicated 700+ mile range.
I find my trip computer actuate; Long tern average is 55mpg - have seen 73mpg on a couple of trips where roadworks kept me below 65mph.
My general driving is probably beneficial for efficiency - try to minimise short trips locally, 25miles to work.

Pathetic

300-320 Miles per tank.

Both short and long journeys.

60 Mile journey best I'll get is 32ish.

18 Cupra 2.0L 300

Worst approx. 165 miles (NC500 with some fairly enthusiastic driving)

Average 300-350 pending on traffic, i do a mix of a short motorway burst and then town traffic

Best ever, 525 miles. Car in limp home mode for most of that tank, no ability to do more than 45ish mph and had to drive to Manchester from London and back on A roads. Was pretty astounded at what it could do but stuff doing that again it was horrible

2020 Cupra 300 ST 4 Drive, and at the latest fill up this afternoon, I saw 460 miles range indicated - I reset it yesterday morning and have covered 340 miles, mainly motorway since then, and car was showing 44.4mpg average when I filled up (real world, using an online calculator was actually 46.5mpg, wow!)...that's much better than the 1.4 Arteon PHEV company car I had previously if I didn't charge it!

Slightly better than the 29.1mpg it indicated on Sunday after lugging 4 kayaks on the roof, 4 adults and a boot-full of gear on a 70 mile round trip of mixed roads...which is a lot worse than the Arteon was on short journeys, but it was more fun

I only run it on Tesco Momentum 99, and I had new tyres fitted last week, which will hopefully help increase the fuel economy even more - it certainly feels like it's rolling a lot more freely on the new rubber, Continental All Season Contact 2, replacing Continental Sport Contact 5.

I've covered just over 3k miles and when I picked the car up it was showing 320 miles range after I brimmed it, so very pleased I've managed to increase that!

This is the most powerful car I've ever owned and I wonder if manufacturers sticking small low-powered engines in heavy cars (the Arteon being almost 2 tons, dragging around all the EV gear with a 150bhp ICE) aren't as economical as they'd have us believe, compared to something like the Cupra weighing about 400kg less with 300bhp on tap, not having to be worked so hard...

1.8TSI DSG FR Technology 2018 23k on clock. Had it one year now.
On fill up I see 440 miles reported. On a motorway 250 mile 70mph run I get 43mpg (if I'm lucky with no roadworks or delays).
On normal (rural roads) running during UK Winter I was getting 36mpg tops. I'm now starting to see lower 40's. Not spirited driving at all.
TBH, I'm disappointed.
Reason - Up until this car I had a 2008 Mk2 Leon FR 2L TDI for 12 years. Utterly brilliant car. Best car I've ever owned. Had the poke. And I could easily get 580 miles from a full tank. Same motorway run as above used to return 56mpg easily. Rural roads were low 50's all year round.
Had to go unfortunately because I had a repair bill of £1800! to clear an ABS/ECU light on the dash. It was a VERY sad day.
