I replaced the front headlamp after some significant contact at the front snapped the brackets at the top of the old headlights but after screwing the new one in it is loose, there seems to be a gap underneath the front seems to have been damaged from the contact is there a way to secure the headlamp, having just the 2 bolts on the top is not enough, apparently it won't pass an mot without being more secure...

yes you have to remove the bumper to fit the lights correctly, there is a 3rd bolt underneath to secure at the bottom, looks to be that the bumper is not secure to the wing bracket too, may be a good idea to investigate that too for better alignment of parts effected.

I thought so. It’s one of the reasons I haven’t fitted new headlights to mine.
I’ve had 2 brand new ones for years but dread taking the bumper off.
Well not so much getting it off but getting it back on.
It looks like someone at some point has glued an L bracket to the inner wing and bumper, probably snapped a clip putting it back on after painting it and that was a quick bodge fix.
A job I’ll do one day, when I have a new bumper ready to go on.

I like that colour. I like blue.
Back in 2005 was tempted with a brand new FR+ in that colour but with the 18’s off an R.
But went for a pre reg Cupra R instead (in red) and saved a couple of grand, especially after I’d have paid for new wheels and tyres.
Seat should have offered that colour on the R.

Probably. Its not a great colour for cars. But would look nice on an R/FR

Is the crash bar intact? Seem to remember the bracket attaches to that
It appears some significant damage on the off side I am thinking the crash bar and brackets need replacing, also appears to be something missing on the off side behind the lights, maybe they all need to be replaced? Also the bolts for the lamps were so rusty they snapped off so not sure how I will get them out as they are too small for my extractor, if I use dremel will likely damage surroundings, i am looking to keep costs down as much as possible might visit a breakers yard and see what I can find, any suggestions? All I needed to do here was to secure the offside lamp it seems to be turning into an unnecessarily big job..
