Anyone heard about SEAT's plans to release the leon 1.6 petrol with the aero bodykit already installed......heard this from a dealer, it's aimed at younger driver's who would go for the looks and wouldn't have massive insurance issues.

I seriously hope not. That's an instant way to de-value an entire brand, image and very expensive body kit option!

Plus, Seat Leon 1.6 Barry Boy Edition doesn't have a great ring to it....

I know that Ford, is doing something similar with the ST. Think I heard it on Top Gear/Fifth Gear, one of those. A smaller engined/lower insurance, same looks more or less version of the ST. If I was a proper ST owner I would be well hacked off .

As if I care but I would be if this is true for the Leon, I mean its hard enough to tell the rest apart from each other, even the Sport, FR, Cupra etc.

My dealer reckons that its going to get even worse, ie, the cars will start to look more and more like each other. Not a good move in my book if SEAT doesnt want to lose customers for the Leon.
