id love to get a proper headunit in mine, going to look about at some companies that specialise in installing ice etc.. to see if they can modify the top vents or do something to make it look half decent!

yer did it myself. my aire vents were broken anyway so it made sense to take them out and put cd player there. its a standard 106 facia not the cd adaptor one. not a perfect fit but looks pretty smart. depends how good u are with that sort of thing though.

i belive they are just glued in, but as mine were broken im not 100%
if your gunna do it u will also need another block connector to make a new loom with as you still need to run power to the centre console

As much as it's annoying, I haven't seen a decent example yet of an aftermarket headunit in the MK3 Cupra.

If you really want to, out of view is best, as it doesn't sit flush on the top of the dash, and the ones that cut the tape part out of the radio, still look bad as it's not flush and sticks out and looks cheap/tacky IMO.

I guess the only way, is a nice flash one, the unit in the glovebox, and the fascia on the top vanity mirror pull down!
