Hi

Fairly new to the club of owning a seat.
Had a question about replacing my headlights. Currently got an SE Leon so the headlights haven’t got that LED out like like the FRs and rhe Cupras. However i saw this image of a Leon with the LEDs having a remote control to change that outline, what’s the easiest way to make this change? If there’s any way at all that is

Thanks

To get the LED outline DRLs, you need the LED headlights. To be honest - don't bother. My previous Leon had the full LED headlight package, and the headlights were not good at all, especially on dipped beam. My current Leon has factory halogens, and with upgraded halogen bulbs (Philips X_Treme vision +150%), and the lights on this are far superior on both dipped and main beam

To retrofit LED headlights isn't just a case of changing the light units. Firstly, the main ECU may not support LED lights. Secondly, you would need to alter the wiring and plugs to the headlights, as LED and halogens are totally different. Third, you also need to retrofit suspension self levelling to make the retrofit legal and MOT-worthy. Lastly, everything would need coding to get it working. It is an very expensive job to source parts and fit, and many would say the cost would be totally prohibitive for any benefits you would gain

Seems like a lot of effort just for some headlights 😂 thanks a lot for the info
Granted, the LEDs are a lovely crisp pure white, but light output is disappointing, especially on the pre-facelift models up to 2017ish. The halogens are more yellow by nature, but as said, I've had both LEDs and halogens, and the light output on the halogens is much better, especially if you change the standard bulbs to the upgraded Philips ones available. I tried pure white LED bulbs, but took them out almost immediately as they were absolutely atrocious compared to standard bulbs... as well as a very poor light spread, there was no beam pattern whatsoever with them. Photos below of the earlier white 64 plate with LEDs, and my current blue 19 plate with halogens
