MOT - emissions

Right, just had a call from the garage doing the MOT today - first point is it's not going to get through with the HID's, so looks like they'll have to be swapped for standard's to get through.

More worryingly, it's also failed the emissions test - he asked if it had been chipped and said it's been mapped so he said he'd have a fiddle and see - anyone know what he'll fiddle with to sort the emissions, and if it fails on emissions will I need to go back to a standard map, or what other options there are? It's a generic stage 1 map installed.

Only other mods to engine are induction kit and diverter valve - no sports-cat/decat so don't think that's causing it to fail.

Maps dont usually lead to issues with emissions unless there are other problems with the car.

no idea what he will fiddle with...

as regards to the hids. have you got the standard headlights?

Speaking in his absence, yeah he has standard lights still. And apparently he read somewhere a faulty MAF can affect the emissions....and our MAF is definitely faulty

Back and all sorted - not 100% sure what he did with regards emissions but managed to get through

Groove in driveshaft I asked them to look at was charge pipe -> IC jubilee clip rubbing, but said it's moved now so no further probs.
