I have been preparing my car for its MOT and one of the major issues i had was the rear brakes. Looking at the state and wear of the discs it looked like they hadnt been operating correctly for a while. With this information i took all corners aparts and clean, greased and freed up all parts. The rear caliper pistons were almost seized but i have made sure all are free and have installed news discs and pads all round with four new tyres to boot.

I have fully bled the system but when taking on a test drive i found i had almost zero brakes. 3/4 of the brake pedel travel does almost nothing with the final 1/4 appying minimal braking. The pedal will actually hit the floor before i have achieved full braking. The pedal also feels 'airy' dispite several bleeds.

Can anybody help?

does it have a bias valve on the rear beam like mk2 golfs with discs, that needs to be clamped to allow the rears to bleed fully. but it does sound like an air lock or a fluid leak.
