My Mk2 Cupra Sport

Hey, kind of new to this forum so here goes something i havent done before, a readers ride. so...

Not my first Seat, and certainly will not be my last. My first Seat was an Arosa, debadged lowered on 14 x 7 star lights, bla bla bla, euro look this, euro look that.

But now with age and sense, and predicatbilty (if thats even a word) i have moved on to a faster and alot 'brighter car. With always wanting a mk2 ibiza, a TDI or 1.4 would just not do. it had to be what the big boys called a 'valver' after searching for months, and weeks of persuasion, i finally found this 2.0 16v GTI cupra, or whatever its called. some people call it a 'cupra' some people call it a 'GTI', i just call it a weapon.

With kind of going against my dads word of 'its far too fast for you' i sneakly persuaded my mam, paid a visit to the bank, and recieved the applicable amount of money to purchase the car. Then came the question, how am i actually going to get to stirling and drive it back? so i arranged it with my friend to go and have a look, and have a scan over it, and see if it was worth the drive... as soon as i seen it, i knew this was the car for me.

As the guy pulled into the car park to meet us, (because his house was in a really awkwud place to meet, he did take me back to his home), it made my jaw drop, with its subtle but in your face paint work, and body work, i would now say this is the best time to say it has the full cupra body kit, and the F2 WRC rear bootlid spoiler, to its kind of sweet note of engine coming from it Janspeed stainless steel exhaust.

With a deal struck, and the insurance company phoned, and a policy declared. it was tie to hand over the money, and sign the V5. with everything hunky dory, and ready to go, the guy gave me the keys, and its wod of service history.

On the journey home, more modifications were discovered, the tape player, had been replaced with a modern, X-plode Sony head unit, with two 6 x 9s in the parcel shelf, and a 12 inch sub woofer in the boot powered by an amplifier. when rain started it would appear it had a single window wiper conversion, and when it got dark, it came to light, with some 6000k HIDs.

On arriving home, it would appear that my clutch pedal wouldnt go down as far as i would like it to, to engage gears, this pointed me to the fault of the 'dreaded' pedal box snapping, so a new one was supplied by a local seat garage and fitted by me and my friend. along side that it got a new cam belt, and a full engine sevice. This again revealed another modification in the way of a strut brace across the front, and when i looked, the rear also.

When the dash was out, we revealed that the dash board clocks were missing some lamps, which of course they were, ABS lamps, so they were put back in, VAG com was used to eliminate working units from faulty units, and it this turned out to be the rear passenger side unit. This was replaced thanks to a £20 unit from ebay, after driving 5mile the system reset itself and the light went out. Result!

Last month i was advised my ibiza had red 'seat cupra sport' logos above the side repeaters, a phone call again to local seats dealers revealed these were obsolete so, this meant a trip to the local sign makers, were i got these made, and a sweet seatcupra.net sticker for my rear wing.

It got a full new set of tyres 3 week ago, i went for yokohama S-drive's, all round, and these again revealed it had been lowered on shorted struts and springs, also it got two rear wheel bearings, and discs and pads all round.

keeping up with corsa VXR's and leon FR suggests it is not sitting at its standard BHP.

I am wanting to do more power modifications. Can anyone out there help? all coments welcome, and thank you for reading.

You could go down the route of throttle bodies/ remaps/ turbos but all expensive personally I would upgrade the engine drop a 1.8 20vt lots of mods out there bigger turbos it all depends on what you are prepared to spend
