Hi All,

I have just got around to fitting my old Pioneer DEH-5500, the ISO adapter it comes with plugs directly in and all appears to work ok.

However as soon as I remove the key from the ignition the radio looses all power and forgets it's settings. I have had this radio in my last 2 cars and it was fine, in my Mk4 20VT FR it's not working so well..

Could anyone help..

I was considering getting a new headunit that's more in keeping with the red glow..
However if I buy a new headunit will it do the same?

HELP!

no not at all. yellow is permanent live and red is ignition on your pioneer and on the car the feeds into them are the other way around.

So basically at the moment you have ignition going into where your unit is expecting permanent live (the bit that saves your settings etc) so when you turn your car off it loses power to the "memory" and it loses the settings
