I have also driven a new Leon, Reference Tdi, as a courtesy car and was really impressed with the handling for such a basic model. I do think this bodes very well for handling on the New FR and Cupra models.
My comments on the looks of the new FR are based on the information I have to hand, ie pictures on SCN and Seat's website. I don't doubt that this will be a better handling car than the outgoing model - I would expect nothing less.
However a car is a bit like a woman - you have to like how it looks, in order to fully appreciate all it has to offer. Let's face it if you buy one you'll have to look at it every day. I happen to prefer the look of the Mk1 FR - maybe that will change over time - maybe first impressions really do count.
