Hi guys,

Recently purchased a leon cupra 1.8t for very little money. EML was on so I have scanned it and found the following:

P0340 - cam shaft possition sensor A.
P0353 - coil C
P1296 - coolant temp mapping

I have ordered a new coil pack, can someone confirm which coil is C.

I have ordered a new camshaft sensor, hoping that fixes the issue or the timing will need checking. Unfortunatly I don't know when or if the Cambelt was changed. Car has 130k. Any DIY here?

As for the coolant mapping I'm not too sure where to start, thermostat, coolant switch? Any DIY?

There are a few other issues:

Coolant gauge doesn't work all the time, it doesn't move even when the car is to temp.

Fuel gauge doesn't light up when on low fuel.

Any advice, recommendations as to where to buy parts and how to carry out the work.

I'm fairly competent but not a mechanic so any diy threads would be ace.

Mike

Can't comment on all the faults, coolant gauge not working I'd say is either temp sensor or thermostat.

A Google search of the dtc's normally gives some idea of where to start looking though

If the temp gauge is staying low and taking ages to warmup it's probs the thermostat. It's most likely just the temp sensor though which is a cheap and easy fix. I assume coil C is the 3rd coil pack but not sure.
