Well, I'm sure car play or AA will always have bugs in it due to large number of combinations of iOS and Android versions and hardware etc. I personally never experienced hangs with Spotify on any version of infotainment software and Google maps working fine as well (never used Apple maps though). I also never used cables and wireless connection worked just fine. Maybe VAG does its testing with latest hardware(like iPhone 14) and not previous generations...

The reboot issue 1940 solves has nothing to do with the car play issues though - it was generic reboot while you driving and not even connected to a phone.

If you are concerned about future software updates then there will always be third party garages selling them for a small fee( or even available for free to download sometimes if you search internet). So you will be able to update it yourself...
Had 1940 installed on my SEAT Leon a few weeks ago, replacing the 1896. Everything worked flawlessly for four weeks, no more random reboots. The end of a nightmare, I hope!

The car still have a few reboots of AA when I'm using AA with Waze and Spotify, if I use only AA + Waze don't happens. But that can be a problem of AA, Spotify or my phone... and it's not annoying because is not frequent. The last time it was some days ago and only when wireless.

I have 1940 (Cupra Leon) and software 1940. Reboots are gone, but I still have issue with contact synchronization over BlueTooth. Not all contacts are synchronized between my android phone (Galaxy S21+) and car. For some contacts not all phone numbers are synced (for example: home & mobile number is OK but no work number etc). This seems to be completely random. Some contact after edited (open & save) were OK for some time but now are again not in sync. I haven't had similar issue in any of my previous cars.
Do anybody meet something similar?
