remap surging power ...dv?

just had my car remmaped at p-torque and it seems like the dv is now shot, the power is surging through the revs and now feels like i am lifting my foot on and off the accelerator.
I dont know what this sounds like to you but i have spoken with the guy from p-torque and apparently the dv has given up, its only the standard bosch one.
I spoke to one of my mates who said dont bother spending 80 quid on a forge and get an s3 one for about 20 quid?

If anyone knows if these seem typical symtoms of a dv failure id love to know

It is possible that your std DV cannot put up with the extra boost. I would day that its a good place to start.

Have you any data from the car to show a loss of boost when the power dies suddenly? This would show up on a log of boost preasure. Perhaps P-Torque could try that, just to make sure. If not, I could do it, if you are close?

Most people on here do change theirs to a forge, whether the old one is shot or not.
