resetting the service light

how do you reset the service light on the instrument pack with only one reset button?
a lad at work reset it when i took it in to fix the EGR valve wiring, but he was just messing arround and it reset. iv asked him how he did it but he carnt remember.

Did it work as never done it on a leon? Just work for audi and it works on older ones :D

is it?:confused: if it is people would go THOUSANDS of miles just resetting the light and not having a service done.

that would be daft though if they didnt service when it comes on...

its in the manual, also in haynes how to do it, and if you search on resetting the light on here im sure itll tell you

It would appear so. :whistle:

After the service has been performed
the display needs to be reset.
The display will be reset by a Technical
Service Centre as follows:
• Switch ignition off
• Keep the odometer reset button next to
the speedometer pressed down.
• Without releasing the aforementioned
button, switch the ignition on. “SERVICE”
will then appear on the display. Next, turn
the button toward the right, for at least
one second.
• The display automatically returns to
normal mode (total km + partial km), and
in this way, the system remains activated
for the oil change service.

Thanks, I am doing this tomorrow and currently have the 'mileage to next service' count down that needs to be got rid of :)
