Squeaky/stiff wing mirror after washing

I washed my new (to me) 2021 Ibiza FR for the first time at the weekend, perhaps stupidly with the wing mirrors still folded (which is the default when the car is locked, as they automatically fold), and since then the driver's side wing mirror now squeaks when folding in or out an it seems like the electric motor for it is struggling a little.

I didn't power wash the car, but did rinse it off with quite a powerful hose down after a snow foam pre-wash. Could I have washed out some lubrication or something and how can I correct this? Am concerned I might burn out the motor in the wing mirror, if left as is. Thanks!

although I'm not sure, there may be a squeaking sound because the rubber-plastic parts inside are cleaned due to the shampoo you use.
It's not Ibiza, but that's what happens to me when I use wax shampoo in my Toledo car.
After a while, it goes away on its own.

You could be right, I think the noise may be from the rubber seals moving against each other. I used Bilt Hamber Auto Wash shampoo for what it's worth, though also gave it a snow foam pre-wash (Carbon Collective Ultimus). Both are PH neutral AFAIK, though.

BTW the car is still under warranty, so not sure if I should try to lubricate it myself (and if so, is there a SEAT-approved lubricant I should be using e.g. WD-40 Specialist White Lithium Grease or Wurth HHS 2000 Lubricant and where should I be applying the lubruicant?) or trying to get a SEAT dealership to do it?

@Metalogic - If you were thinking of getting this investigated by the Seat dealer under warranty, I think that VAG brands may charge an investigation / diagnostic fee. If there‘s an issue that’s covered by the warranty, then I think the fee’s refunded.

The electrically folding door mirror on my VW is noisier when folding during warmer / summer months than it is at other times. It’s been like that since the car was new but it works just fine.

On a related note, when washing the car (not in an auto car wash), is it better to have the mirrors folded in or deployed outwards from the point of view of reducing water ingress etc. or does it make no real difference?

I think both of them are Okay. I dont know anything about guarantee situaiton but for years ı did both of the ways many times and never got any issue with multiple SEAT cars

I have mine deployed outwards as i find it easier to clean the lower front corner of the windows nearest to the door mirrors with them unfolded. I also find it easier to dry the windows and mirror glass / mirror housings.

I have to try and remember to leave my key fob indoors out of range of the car though as my car (VW Polo GTI+) has keyless entry; if I have the key fob with me, the mirrors will auto fold each time I touch the front door handles! 🤣
