Hi I will be getting my new FR in October and just wondered if anyone had the supercare stuff done on theirs when it was new. If so is it any good and is it worth the money?

Is this another form of claimed product they apply to your car that means it doesnt need polished for years, etc. If it is then no it's not worth it, the dealers charge a stupid amount of markup to apply it and trust me I've detailed several cars with superguard and it's a waste of time, doesn't last, a good polish then wax is of far more benefit.

Just search for supagard on ebay, if you fancy having it on your car don't pay the dealer silly money to apply it.

i managed to haggle the dealer into throwing the kit in for free.
They applied it on site then gave me the kit to take away. pretty good job but you ca see where some numpty has left a big thumb print UNDER the final coat so i cant get it off until the wax wears away!
...unless someone out there knows how?
the finish is pretty good on my black FR with some damn fne rainwater beading too.... not worth 300 notes though

Yea just get some TFR or some kind of citris de-greaser and that'll remove any wax or polish on your car.
i bought my car ex-demo and it was supagarded already, the dealer does this to all their demonstrators as standard.
Car now 18 months and you can get a great reflection in the paint after just an autoglym shampoo and rinse. Ive never touched it with wax or polish. Often clean rain is enough to wash most surface dirt off.
From what ive seen its worth it when its free or done low cost but i agree that its hugely overly marked up!
Self application takes great care from what ive heard. If you don't do it right and it looks bad, you may need to get the car machine polished to remove the coating.
I think you need to watch ebay and the web for fake kits for under £20, there is a notice on the supagard website about fake kits.

i agree with most people in here, its really not worth it at all...
mine was look dull after about 6 months of having it. but after a good polish session and 5 hours later, it was super bling!!

It all depends on what you pay for it- at full price it is poor value but if you get them to offer it free or as near as in order to close the deal it is worth it especially if it includes scotchguard type treatment of the carpets and seat fabrics. Paint protection is no better than what you can achieve yourself with love care and elbow grease!

readding on the interior could do with it safe grim and stuff but having a new car is about looking after it regualr washes etc so looks like im gonna give it a miss

I will say it is worth it if you pay the £3 or so and do it yorself from Ebay. I have applied it to two car's myself now and it does help prevent dirt build up and in general makes it easier to clean. Top it up with a good was and the selant will last fort years and keep the paintwork looking fresher. Supagard or silversheild are the best as they are just apply and work away to a point. A wash and wax or normal wax helps prevent the coating wearing off. Diamond Brite does need a regular conserver appling to maintian the finish.
Until I paid £3 and tried it myself I was sceptical but after a year both cars came up like new with minimal effort and paint work does look fresh and glossy. In the end the sealnt simply fills in the microscopic pits found on the laqure and so makes it harder for dirt to key to hence being easier to clean. The average car can hold up to 4 litres of water on the bodywork and the selant again reduces the amount of water that can stick. Wax does the same thing but does not last as long as a selant. A good wax Wax on a selant gives a very deep lustre.
But never get it from the dealer unless free as the kit's they buy only cost around £35 and the rest is profit!!!

i think the interior is more important outside im deffo gonna make sure if i get one its gonna be spotless
interior on my old 98 saxo is still spotless without a guard - zero smoke action and limited eating
