Oh, hi Craig!

Thanks!

Been a while since the days of B u c k d e n, yeah. (Had to space it out, he's on the censor list, for some reason)

I'm hoping to do a few more mods and photo sessions before the cold sets in.

What are you driving these days? Is the copper head still alive?

The copper head is indeed still alive, had her almost 7 years and don't want to get rid! Only got 95k on the clock lol.

The black and red colour combo looks ace, really suits the car [B)]

Nowhere near, i.e. Norway.
In these carbon sheet times.

I had some excess sheet and thought this could be a nice place to try it.

This is just a test. I need to cut a little straighter and I'm not sure how to solve the issue under the latch.

So, whaddya think? (The phone's camera sees things a little different than my eyes, I'm afraid.)

Very nice Vidar.
Its a pity they saw fit to make the door panels and the glove box grey on the LC.
You'll have a big job to cover the door cards too, lol.

Well done mate, That looks pretty good.
The only way you'll be able to do the recess is with another piece of carbon and you will have to join it.

If you want to do the door card's first try sticking an off cut onto the panel and leave it there for a while, because the oor cars is textured you will get small air pocket's behind it which might incress when it get's hot in the car.
Also concaved area's are very difficult to cover.

That looks pretty good mate!

I'm waiting for a couple of carbon fibre sheets from ebay to arrive, I'm planning to cover my front and rear 'SEAT' badges. If I do half as good a job as you've done I'll be happy. [B)]

Would these sheets stay on covers etc under the bonnet or would the heat kill it?

Could make a cheap carbon fibre look engine cover :p or just an airbox or battery box..

Most of the engine cover's are textured so you would get samll air bubbles under the surface which might get bigger.
The smoother the item you are covering the better the finnish you will get.

I don't like the idea of joining. Seams to line up. :Shiver:

I don't think I'm going to do the door cards. Yet. Did have some other plans for them.

Concaved areas are not that hard to cover. The sheets are very flexible. Have you seen the video where the eBay seller covers the mouse? RobDon has done his tear drop mirrors too.

I must say that the stuff from ebay (i kindly followed D.Ks advice and bought it from the same place he did) is really good stuff and i am currently preping a Leon dash centre section for my car, then i'll be stealing your idea of carbon covered badges then wing mirror covers, door handles glove box lids etc etc until the money runs out.

The bits that you've done look awesome mate.

They are convexed
Convexed are shapes that curve out
Concaved go in
