What features do you like best in your Ibiza?

Just for fun, what gadgets/features do you really like in your car? And what ones do you miss after having them in other cars you owned in the past? Anything you think is a pile of poo about your car?

Present car = MK5 Ibiza FR 2.0TDI 3 Door. Last Car = Mk5 VW Golf GT Sport 2.0 TDI

Things I like about my Ibiza FR.

1. Climate control. Only had air con in last car and I can't believe just how good CC is in this car!

2. Hill Hold. Thought this would be a bit of a gimmick but I've grown to love it!

3. Steering column audio controls. Never ever had them on a car before and again can't believe how handy they are.

4. USB port. My iPod is very happy about that! :)

5. Foding leccy mirrors. Stops the Robins in my garden trying to beat the **** out of their reflection! LOL (Seriously!!!)

6. The engine! Not really a gadget or feature but hey it's refined, pretty powerful and economical!

7. Cruise Control - just made it onto the list. Don't use it very often but it does come in handy for boring long distance motorway trips, or average speed cameras! TBH wouldn't really miss it if Cruise Control wasn't fitted.

8. STYLING! Is styling a feature???? Probably not but it's going in anyway! I love the styling of the Ibiza! Best looking small car in the market IMO. :)

9. Tyre pressure warning - excellent idea! Especially with the low profile tyres on the FR!

10. NO AUTO HEADLAMPS! - Gadz, I hated those in the Golf. Totally unpredictable! Sometimes headlights would come on in broad daylight! Feature turned OFF!

11. NO AUTO WIPERS - again in the Golf they had a mind of their own..... NEVER AGAIN!

12. EDIT - forgot about Bluetooth! Turns my car into a fast mobile phone! Love it!

Things I miss from my VW Golf.

1. Heated Seats!!!!!!! My old bones (and ass!) really liked the pampering! Also have a slightly dodgy back (old motorbike war wound) and the heat really helped it sometimes. Ahh the good old days...

2. Auto Dim rear view mirror. Amazingly effective!

3. Fully auto coming/leaving home lights function. Have given up with the useless system in the Ibiza!

4. The handling. It was a big car and is not as fast as my Ibiza FR, but it would definitely show the FR a clean pair of heels around a twisty and bumpy road. The FR does lose its composure when it hits a series of bumps mid-corner. The Golf just sailed right through. The FR is a bit more tail-happy in the wet too - the Golf merely under-steered in a controllable fashion. The FR still handles well...just not as well as the Golf! lol Probably the fault of the cheapo rear suspension on the Ibiza!

5. Build quality - no rattles! In the three and a half years i had the Golf not one rattle did it ever make inside the cabin. Having had Seats before, I knew that rattles were part of the ownership experience. My current Seat is better in this respect than the ones I had previously, but it still does rattle a bit!

6. Interior finish. Ok the Ibiza is effectively a budget small car but the Golf really is finished much better. The quality of the fit and the interior plastics are a league above. I am happy with the Ibiza and think it's made progress from the previous model, but even compared to the VW Polo it could still do with some improvement.

7. Remote fuel cap release. Because I am lazy! lol

And finally the "pile of poo" awards. Things I hate about the Ibiza.

1. Glove Box compartment. What a nasty excuse for a glove box! It's tiny, flimsy and not lockable!

2. No water temp guage! In a so-called performance car I think this is an essential piece of kit!

3. No low engine oil light. Found this very handy in the Golf as it drank 0.5L of oil every 3,000 miles. So far not lost any oil from the FR's diesel engine, but it'd have been nice to have this light for safety's sake. Only a little moan about this omission really!

4. Coming home function. The amount of juggling you have to get this feature to work is beyond a joke. Either make it automatic or leave it out, Seat! I've just given up on it!

Right that's my effort. Contributions/views/abuse all welcome! lol

Current car - 11 plate Ibiza 1.2tsi, previous car rather sluggish 1.2 Vauxhall Corsa.

Things I love about the Ibiza

1. Stop start feature is brilliant!
2. Folding mirrors (didn't have these on the Corsa but did on the Meriva before that and I missed them!)
3. The computer that tells me my mpg figure!
4. The variable intermittent wiper function
5. Comfy sports seats
6. £30 road tax (Corsa was £110)

I only miss one thing about the Corsa and that is the fact that the wipers and lights turned off when you switched the engine off. I don't miss anything else at all!

Current car Boc - Previous car MK1 LCR

Like about the Ibiza

1 Fuel economy - I don't have to put in £80 a week in anymore ( I do quite a lot of driving)
2 Factory Bluetooth connection through the stereo
3 Easy for parking around town
4 The "speaker" thing inside the cabin to give added engine noise

Things I miss about the LCR

1 The way it delivered its power (it had an ASBO!)
2 The low stance
3 Normal manual gearbox
4 General styling was better on the LCR
5 Handeling was great
6 Massive boot
7 Hydrolic lifts on the bonnet
8 Brembos as standard- not having to pay over 1k for "racing brakes"

I miss the LCR but had to be sensible

11. NO AUTO WIPERS - again in the Golf they had a mind of their own..... NEVER AGAIN!

Thought I was the only one in the world that hated these 2 'features'

Auto lights isn't so bad, and remain on in my car literally just because they turn on when I unlock the car, kinda handy. I always still go to the switch as well though.
AUTO WIPERS I WANT RID OF. They could have at least made it another setting on the stalk or something and not just used I, they're f**king useless on any car; I'm always sat there thinking, yep, I need to now turn the wipers off and do a single flick because these things don't meet my standards!!

Current car - Mk5 Ibiza SC 1.4

1. Styling.....just a win/win!
2. Cruise control - Just easy when on a clear motorway or speed check zone.
3. MPG is very good!
4. Boot space is a decent size.
5. How quiet it is on tick over. I keep thinking i've stalled it or not turned it over.

Bad points:

1. Feedback through AUX wire on sperakers. Is that the same for everyone?
2. How high the suspension is. Get a fist under those arches!
3. Glovebox. No more needs to be said on that subject.
4. Rattles....they do my nut in.
5. Throttle lag, but I can live with that as speeding away from traffic lights isn't my thing haha.

Previous car was a 106 1.1L.....Anything beats that!

Like:
1. Variable intermittance speed wipers
2. Cruise Control
3. Look
4. Leather steering wheel (though i only noticed how much nicer it is after driving some lower specc'd hire/courtesy cars)
5. £30 a year tax
6. 60-65mpg if taking it steady (60mph) on the motorway
7. the fact it has so far transported EVERYTHING i've thrown at it, it's been tight at times, but it's done it

Dislike
1. 38-40mpg on my short commutes to work
2. throttle lag
3. rattle - i will find you, mark my words
4. getting cruise control over climate control, just because the CC unit looks better
5. 4x4 ride height
6. easily unsettled by bumps when cornering hard

re: feedback when using the AUX-in, try turning the ipod up, the headunit volume up and the aux-in level down to level-II

Present Car: Mk5 Ibiza FR TDi
Previous Car Mk4 Ibiza FR TDi

Mk5 Likes:
Cruise control, Aux input, well bolstered heated seats, heated folding mirrors, styling, wheels, headlight washers, nice dashboard, refined ride, esp, dump valve woosh, remote window closure, tyre pressure monitor, hill hold.

More savage power delivery, underseat box, RH dash box & bigger glovebox storage, deeper boot.

Bonnet release moved to RHS
Alarm flasher moved to RHS
Battery in bonnet and hence deeper boot
Leather hand brake grip
Interior material on door casings
Storage tray under hand brake area
Outside temp gauge on climate control screen

I had a Pug 306 1.6 8v 'T' reg, now I have the Boc, I love:

1. The power when you want it and fuel economy when you want it.
2. The Looks, still truning heads after 2 years.
3. Trip Computer, lots of useful info.
4. The Cabin is comfortable and great for the driver, all controls are in easy reach.
5. Cruise Control. Just Excellent.
6. Road Tax is £130 per year, that is over £50 a year saving on previous car and good for a car of this power.
7. Folding mirrors - Nice size mirrors that fold away nicely.
8. Build quality under the bonnet. Love looking at the engine, with it's engineered to fit pipework and wiring.

Things I hate:

1. How the wheels stick out and I would have liked the option of black 18'' alloys.
2. The trim above the speedo reflects the sun into your eyes.
3. DSG limit, would have liked to have tuned the engine without this being a concern.
4. The rattles and occasionally sqeaking seat, have to WD40 the bugger every now and then.

Current car: 2011 Ibiza Cupra, Previous car 2005 Golf 1,6FSI sportline

I love

The engine! Great combo of power and economy
Exterior styling
USB and bluetooth are nice features I didn't have in the golf
DSG, works great in everyday driving

don't like

minimal instrumentation
wheels, I think the FR wheels look a lot better than the cupra rims
DSG when driving fast

From the golf I miss the 10 speaker stereo and the bit more upscale interior.
