Where do I spray EGR cleaner?

Hi folks,

I had a check engine light come on a few weeks ago, came back on a reader as a P0405 issue. The car has done 120k miles so I'm fully expecting the EGR to be absolutely caked in carbon deposits. I bought some STP Diesel EGR cleaner and it says to "Remove the flexible hose that is located between the turbo charger or intercooler, and the air intake manifold", then later to "spray into the air intake manifold but not into the intercooler".

I've looked everywhere I can online, and checked the Haynes manual, but nothing really points in that direction with what's under my bonnet. I've added the picture. Could somebody point me in the right direction of which pipe to take off, and where to spray? Also, is the EGR actually that UFO-looking thing at the top of this photo? I had heard that the EGR was effectively only reachable by getting under the car and taking out the exhaust...

Thank you for any help given!

Not 100% sure but I'm sure the EGR is hidden at the back in a really awkward position, it is in the Leon I know and imagine the Ibiza to be similar if not the same. Sorry.

I'm guessing this to be a CR engine? My boy's Fabia scout had a 1.6 CR and although I liked the old 1.9 TDI engines - we had a variety of Seat and Skoda versions - I was not impressed with the 1.6. His EGR gummed up and the only thing for it was to fit a new one. I do most of the service and repair work on our family cars (all 6 of them) but after having a good look at it I decided to get the AVW Autocentre lads have the pleasure! It's really tucked away behind the engine and the AVW lads confirmed it's not exactly one of their favourite jobs.

Good luck with the spray. Worth a try but don't expect too much.
