Straight out of the manual:

A new vehicle should be run in over a distance of 1500 km (1000 miles). For the first 1,000 km the engine speed should not exceed 2/3 of the maximum permissible engine speed. In doing so, do not accelerate at full throttle and do not drive with a trailer! From 1000 to 1500km (600 to 1000 miles) you can gradually increase the engine rpm and road speed.

Yeah, I misread it, changed my post.[B)] What is the maximum permissible engine speed??

The red zone starts at 6500 rpm, so I guess just over 4k.

Somewhat different from my RX-8 which doesn't really do anything until you are over 3500 rpm!

So your safe to hit 120mph driving your first mile of your car from seat showroom

Is it just me or does the New Golf R facelift's front bumper look a lot more like the Leon Cupra mk3 pre facelift

Looking very swish! Are they the standard seats? Are you impressed so far?

Not the standard ones, they are the bucket seat option. I'm not sure if they are really worth the money, but they are comfortable.

I'm gently running it in, about a quarter of the way there, and have found the ACC really useful in that regard. When the traffic starts to move it accelerates somewhat economically. I'm looking forward to being able to put my foot down!

Also, I'm running it in 'comfort mode' at the moment to keep the revs down.
