My temperature gauge reads a steady 90 degrees once warmed up but VCDS is showing no higher than 74 degrees c. If the the thermostat is sticking in the open position why is the gauge showing 90 degrees?
I have ordered a new thermostat from TPS yesterday and will get this on once it arrives but will still be interested to see why my clocks say 90 and VCDS says 75.
Hi. Did you ever get to the bottom of this?
My TDi is showing the temp gauge around 90ish also, but the heaters are stone cold regardless of the setting i put them on

I've been working away but flying home tonight. I've got a new thermostat waiting to go on and as soon as it does I'll update this thread. I have been told that the temperature gauge on the clocks is usually quite vague. Don't know if this is common or not?
It's the vague problem, it will hit 90 on the gauge temp as soon as hit 72º at vcds. It will stay steady at 90º on the gauge, from 72-105 (the maximum i see on the vcds, could be higher this higher limit).
Did you notice any difference after replacing the thermostat?
