Gap cover - worth the 300 quid?

Got the option to take out gap insurance on my leon. It's 300 quid which doesn't seem too bad. How long does gap cover last for exactly? Is it just the length of the. Loan term? Did you take it out?

There's some good descriptions there - do not buy from your dealer.

Return to Invoice gap cover is what you want if you have a new car though...

And don't forget quidco (if you use that)

The car is 3 years old, so which cover should I be looking at?

How did you fund the purchase?

But RTI cover is to pay the shortfall between what the insurance pay out, and what the car cost you.

Ahh makes sense now, RTI cover for my case then. Wow! That's a lot cheaper than the dealer! Thanks for the link

Never used quidco - do I have to pay to sign up? How does it work?

Sign up (for free) - go to their site, search for the merchant you want to buy from, click their link - buy insurance.

They take the first £5 you 'earn' each year for the service, and you get the rest paid into your bank

I make just under £1000/yr from that
