I have double-checked my bank account back to January 2005, you asked about sending me a cheque on April 6th Scotty_b, I have never cashed any cheques for £98.50 before or after that date so if you sent it, I never got it.

Hehe ... ah well, just as well you never sent it then! :D

OK so that's all payments refunded then, I haven't a clue about these braces, I'm sorry to everyone but I thought these would done long before now. I can only suggest chasing Mike or giving up all hope.

Well, well ... Mike has been back in touch after a long break ... and I have a production brace in my hands right now!!! Yep, final production versions of these adjustable, removeable, quick-release, bolt-in Leon rear strut braces are now available.

I am going to do a write up this week, with pictures of how it is installed, etc. and the finished article sitting in my boot. It is made of lightweight aircraft-grade stainless steel with quick-release levers, high quality, well made.

I am going to bond mine into place using JB Weld which will add to the strength, you don't have to do this but I won't be removing mine and want the extra strength:

PM or email me if you want one of these, price around £85 I think, Mike will confirm the exact price including delivery.

Could be up for this mod, depending on ease of installation

The car does need something to sharpen up the handling a bit. I will wait for the piccies first...

There is NO drilling involved to fit this at all - I fitted it this afternoon and the only tool required to fit the brace was a 5mm allen key to tighten the plate bolts!

I'll post a full fitting guide this week, there is a tiny amount of trimming required of the side carpet and plastic trim, but very minor. Including taking step-by-step photos today it took me 1 hour to fit it, so i'd say 30-40mins tops without the photos.

Full writeup this week, but if you want one or just want to speak to Mike about them, his email address is: [email protected]

Here's a couple of pics of the installed brace, finished:

I wanted to let everyone know that I am not under any sort of commission or anything from Mike to pimp up this product, if it was rubbish I would say so, but it's not, from the previous testing (including a track test round Knockhill) I found it to be a very worthwhile modification, very reasonably priced too as it is of high quality (aircraft-grade lighweight stainless steel). Considering there is no Leon rear brace on the market - this one is well worth having, the fact that it is fully adjustable and has quick release handles etc. makes it better than most other non-Leon rear braces on the market.

Big thumbs up from me, big thanks to Mike for making these.

BTW, to remove the bar for carrying stuff in the boot etc., simply loosen off the inner quick-release handles then wind in the outer ones and the whole bar comes out - takes like 20 secs. Re-fitting is the reverse!

thats good!
