JBS on the back end of some bad publicity again
I have to say, ive used JBS a lot in the past and my opinions of them are mixed. I have a CC map on the car which i have never been truelly pleased with but on the other hand, they carried out the fitting of my clutch on 1 occasion, the 60k service with cambelt waterpump on another and my nitrous install on another and have no complaints with their service or workmanship then.
Ive been to their premesis about half a dozen times or so, and i would say overall 50% of the time i left satisfied, 50% of the time i left dissapointed.
I sill have a map that does not work properly with nitrous use. I have visited them on 3 or 4 occasions regarding this but never managed to get it running as it should. Pulling timing here, pulling timing there, having to back timing off on normal map to compensate for nitrous and so on and on. I got fed up with it in the end (And the petrol costs to and from Chesterfield) and just gave up on them.
I would not reccomend the CC map to anyone, i found my jabbasport map to be the best out of the bunch (Driven Revo and APR cars too) Jabba run the car fairly lean but i feel they extracted 110% out of it, and although JBS claimed it was dangerous to run the cars this lean
I have never ever heard of anyone having problems with their jabba maps. I always felt CC was at 80/90% so was never extremely satisfied with the map.
I have spent quite a fair bit of money with JBS, have receipts of over £3.5k worth of work with them so i am entitled to have an opinion on them. I am sure they used to offer a site discount, but dont know what happened to that. Perhaps James seen the credit crunch 2yrs early as i dont believe they have any customer loyalty in regards to pricing or incentives for ex customers to come back.
Having been here 4 yrs now, this is not the 1st thread ive read about JBS customer relations and im sure it wont be the last. Ive also heard a lot of negative feedback at various meets about people who work in the company (1 in particular) and who have vowed never to use them again. I also believe 1 chap with a fast golf has had numerous encounters with JBS.
I dont know where im going with this 1 to be honest, i have mixed feelings as above. I wouldn't reccomend their remaps but their workmanship on the more mechanical jobs i have no complaints about and Mike is fairly helpful in regards to telephone and forum queries.
Out of 10, my JBS experience would be 6.5/10
I wont be using them again as the car modding game is a mugs game, just took me 3 or 4 yrs to realise that
You want a fast car, buy 1 to begin with and save yourself the hassle of all this bo**ocks (And the expense)
