It's painted mate or you can have it vinyled which is easier and cheeper to reverse

Just to show where the paint goes to....

Did it myself. Badge comes out quite easily...

Lightly keyes it with wet & dry

Couple of thin coast of halfrauds plastic primer, gloss black paint and laquer

Might rub it back down and re do it soon as there are one or 2 tiny chips although that is after 10k miles so its lasted well

Was going to put up a pic of my k1 for you to look at then I looked at the post and thought, that area looks familar, come to think of it so does the house/car!!

I bought mine with them on but think the balck alloys look good on the red models and if you accessories with black will always look smart.

I know opinions divided (bit of a marmite thing!) but I have considered the Audi r8 halgoen fron lamp conversion for mine and there is a post somewhere on here about that
