idle speed, sticking throttle

Hi Folks on an Ibiza FR TDI sometimes i notice my idle speed to be a little high, maybe 1k rpm, if i blip the throttle or lift the pedal with my toe it drops. Any ideas, is it a sticky pedal, bushing etc? is there any point that requires a bit of lube etc?

There's a tps (throttle positioning sensor) on the end of the shaft thing up by the clutch pedal on most of the tdi's, maybe it's a bit loose or needing tweaked. Check the action of the throttle pedal while you're down there too and see if you can feel any stickyness, maybe could do with a lubrication.

On later models like the Ibiza mk4 the sensors are built into the pedal itself. Find a substitute pedal and try that as a starting point.
